VINTAGE 2022, A STRESSFUL BUT GENEROUS VINTAGE !

August 26th : kick off of the 2022 harvest

If the past 3 years have been distressing, 2022 has been a dream come true : quality and quantity ! In other words, we have everything to make of this vintage a reference. The harvest started last Friday, August 26 at Domaine d’Ardhuy.

This year, we have made the choice to try to preserve a certain freshness on our wines. As a matter of fact, the plant and the people working in the vineyards ! suffered from the drought and the heat wave of this summer. The freshness we have preserved in our wines will be an evidence to a good 2022 vintage.

In the winery, the sorting out of the grapes allowed us to set aside the dry berries. The overall quality of the grapes is nevertheless exceptional.

A first glimpse of the 2022 vintage

The first vinified reds are rapidly finishing their alcoholic fermentation. We want to extend as much as possible the maceration in order to extract a maximum of aromas and density from this beautiful raw material. The whites, available this year in bigger quantities than in 2021, have a beautiful balance with satisfactory sugar contents.

Our teams are mobilized to convert this stressful but generous 2022 vintage in gorgeous wines. Stunning wines that put a smile back on the faces of our people, the winegrowers of Côte-d’Or in general and we hope, on all Burgundy lovers.
