Etymology
At Pommard, this climat neighbours the lieu-dit Frémiets at Volnay, which goes up a little higher on the slope. Their names may have the same origin even though the spelling differs. We suppose that these plots belonged to members of the Frémy family. In 1892, they owned plots at Pommard in the lieux-dits then called: “Es Noizons”, “En Monpoulain” and “Les Chazeaux”.
