The vineyard plot(s)
Old massal selection planted in 1978. These Pinot Noir vines are relatively vigorous : the rootstocks on this plot have a tendency to be too productive
The soil and subsoil
Les Argillats : The clayey limestone in this plot (crinoidal limestone from the Bathonian era) is very porous and so heats up well thus favouring the ripening of grapes.
Aux Herbues : The soil here is clay loam on a subsoil from the upper Oligocene era. This type of soil tends to remain relatively humid after rain.
The vinification
According to the vintage conditions.
The exposition
Les Argillats : This hillside, south-facing plot is located just above Nuits-Saint-Georges.
Aux Herbues : This plot located between Nuits-Saint-Georges and Vosne-Romanée is on a shallow east-facing slope.
