Les Argillats : The clayey limestone in this plot (crinoidal limestone from the Bathonian era) is very porous and so heats up well thus favouring the ripening of grapes.
Aux Herbues : The soil here is clay loam on a subsoil from the upper Oligocene era. This type of soil tends to remain relatively humid after rain.
