At Meursault, Les Pellans, Les Pelles-Dessous and Les Pelles-Dessus are close neighbours and are ancient meadows. The first one lies below the road that leads to Puligny-Montrachet, near the Limozin source and the river bearing the same name. The other two are below or next to the Crotots. They were therefore humid terrains. “Pellan” is a derivative of old French Pevle “pâturage” or pasture land.

Old vines of over 50 years from an old massal selection of Chardonnay planted on 161-49 rootstocks.
Clayey limestone called “complexe de pied de côte” or complex soil at the foot of the slope made up of limestone, silt, marl and clay coming from the erosion of slopes higher up, in this case the famous Meursault Premier Cru “Les Charmes” which is next door.
According to the vintage conditions.
These vines are located south of Meursault, near Puligny-Montrachet at an altitude of 225 to 230 metres. The slope is shallow and faces east south-east.
