Le Rognet : Rogner – from common Latin *ROTUNDIARE, derived from classical Latin ROTUNDARE “give a round shape, round” – means “Trim something on its edges to adjust its contour”. This is indeed what happened to the edges of this plot that have been straightened to make them disappear from inside the plot Le Corton of Aloxe-Corton.

A blend of different Chardonnay selections grafted onto 161-49 rootstocks. Fairly young vines at around 30 years old.
Marly limestone from the middle Oxfordian era. This is similar soil to that found in neighbouring Corton-Charlemagne. If this is only a Premier Cru it is because at the time of the official classification the vineyard was fallow and not planted out with vines.
According to the vintage conditions.
These vines are planted fairly high up on the Corton hill at around 340 metres. The slope is quite steep and is ideally south-east facing.
