2025 : a promising vintage!
The harvest at Domaine d’Ardhuy has just wrapped up. It began on Tuesday, August 26th, coordinated by Christophe, but was hampered this year by frequent and sometimes heavy rain, lasting until Monday, September 8th.
The focus now shifts to the cellar, where our winemaking teams are led by Thomas.
Our different red and white cuvées are springing to life. The reds are undergoing explosive alcoholic fermentations while the whites are calmer. Our cellars are filled with delightful fruit and floral scents from a "vintage ending in 5," which we had expected to be defined solely by the sun.
However, a rainy finish created a clear divide between the parcels picked before the downpours and those that absorbed significant water (over 100 mm in some cases).
The August 15th heatwave had unfortunately already paved the way for modest yields, especially following the grueling 2024 vintage that tested our vines and our crews.
Still, for all its logistical disruption, the rain helped some Pinot Noir plots achieve a better phenolic balance, gave a slight lift to the yields, and brought natural sugar levels down. This creates a fascinating contrast: a sun-kissed profile balanced by a vibrant acidity, pointing to a vintage with structure and energy. In a word, it is exciting.
As for the whites from the Clos des Langres, they are already showing their indulgent, charming, and fairly concentrated character as they begin their long months of aging.
The wines for our Collections are currently being crafted, a result of the dedicated work of our entire team.
We are building a new legacy for Domaine d’Ardhuy and look forward to revealing it to you.
Vincent, General Manager.
